Ambassadors of Liechtenstein and Luxembourg at our Foundation

Our guests, albeit based in Vienna as ambassadors, make regular visits to Budapest on account of their accreditation and personal interest in our country.

Maria-Pia Kothbauer, first cousin of Hans-Adam II, Prince of Liechtenstein, has been representing the Principality in the Imperial City since 1996. She knew our namesake personally, and they even are distant relatives.  We gave the Ambassador an account on our Foundation’s activities, which was followed by a discussion on the current situation in Europe and Hungary’s recent experience of holding the EU Presidency.

Jean Graff, Ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, is also an experienced diplomat. Having previously represented his country in The Hague, Madrid and Berlin, he has a wide network of contacts worldwide. Ambassador Graff was provided with an insight into the work of our Foundation, and bilateral relations between our countries were addressed, with particular regard to Prime Minister Luc Frieden’s visit to Budapest in September.

We came to an agreement with our guests that in the near future we would examine the links between Otto von Habsburg and their countries, considering how they could be commemorated in a fitting way.
