Tamás Körmendi, habilitated associate professor and head of the Department of Auxiliary Sciences of History at ELTE, as well as deputy director of the Institute of Historical Studies, visited our Foundation. Maintaining relations with a department specialising in archival science and document management methodology, which is also a leading centre for archival education in Hungary, is particularly important for our work. Through training related to public collections and the exchange of theoretical and practical knowledge, this cooperation will contribute in the long term to ensuring that the documents in our Foundation’s care are processed, preserved and made available for research at the highest professional standards.
The guest received a tour from Gergely Fejérdy, Deputy Scientific Director, who presented the mission of the Foundation and its collection structure. During the visit, our colleague Bence Kocsev provided information about the archival material and our international relations, while senior archivist Ádám Suslik shared details about the decorations linked to Otto von Habsburg and his family. Afterwards, archivist and art historian Eszter Fábry reported on the processing of artefacts acquired during the past year and the measures taken to conserve the collection. Zita Lőrincz, a collection fellow, showed the visitor the photo and audiovisual collection, allowing them to gain a direct insight into the nature of the material in question and the considerations involved in its preservation.
