On October 1, His Excellency Archbishop Michael Wallace Banach, Apostolic Nuncio, visited our Foundation. The distinguished envoy of the Holy See met with the representatives of the Evangelical-Lutheran Church in Hungary, after which Gergely Prőhle accompanied him through the premises of the Otto von Habsburg Foundation and presented the Foundation’s mission and activities.
During his time with us, the American prelate explored a selection of documents showcasing the correspondence between our institution’s namesake and several Popes — Paul VI, Saint John Paul II, and Benedict XVI — as well as letters from Cardinal Francis Spellman and Dr Henry Kissinger, and the leading figures of the American conservative renaissance.
Archbishop Banach conveyed his appreciation for the Foundation’s work, expressed his intention to maintain close interest in its future activities, and indicated his openness to possible cooperation in forthcoming joint initiatives.
