On 9 October, the Ambassador of Japan in Budapest, H. E. Ms. Hikariko Ono, visited our Foundation, who had presented her letter of credence to the President of Hungary, Tamás Sulyok, on 26 March this year.
Twenty years ago, on 3 October 2004, Pope John Paul II beatified the last Hungarian king, the father of our Foundation’s namesake, in Rome. At the suggestion of the Hungarian branch of the Emperor Karl League of Prayers, the Golden Cross of Merit was established on the occasion.
Following the conference on Otto von Habsburg’s European legacy, the events of 1989, and the development of Hungarian-German relations, our colleagues visited the ancestral home of the Hohenzollern family and took part in the commemoration of German Unity Day in Metzingen.
Between 30 September and 3 October 2024, members of our Foundation visited Baden-Württemberg. The first event of their stay took place at the Liszt Institute in Stuttgart.
