Colonel Prof. Dr. Tibor Balla, Research Professor of the Faculty of Military Sciences and Officer Training, Department of Military Leadership and General Subjects at the Ludovika University of Public Service and Dr. Gergely Sallay, historian-museologist of the Military History Museum in Budapest, examined the Foundation’s collection of objects, photographs and documents relating to the First World War and the life of Charles I (IV). The visitors enthusiastically followed our report on the Foundation’s work and plans.
They were particularly impressed by the hitherto unpublished military photos and records relating to the Great War. We also had the pleasure of delighting Gergely Sallay with his former correspondence with our namesake, preserved in the Foundation’s “Hungarian-related correspondence of Otto von Habsburg 1988−2011” archival collection. Both of them agreed that the observed pieces could legitimately be of interest to the national and international historians, as well as the broader public.
