In commemorating the 50th anniversary of Friedrich August von Hayek’s Nobel Prize in Economics, awarded in December 1974, we seize this occasion not only to reflect on his connection with Otto von Habsburg but also to explore key aspects of our namesake’s profound involvement with the field of economics and economic scholarship.
On 28 October 2024, our Foundation, together with the Embassy of Hungary in Vienna and the Federation of Austrian Industries, held a conference on the history of the Austrian school of economics and its relevance today.
