The BDK’s core collection is based on the former private library of the renowned publicist Caspar Schrenk-Notzing, publisher of the journal Criticón, however, it has grown tremendously over the last ten years. Under the leadership of Wolfgang Fenske, an evangelical theologian, it has become a world-renowned collection and research centre for conservative philosophical, ideological, historical and political literature. We examined the library’s holdings and found that many of the journals in Berlin are complete, whereas many of those in the Otto von Habsburg Foundation’s archives are only fragmentary. We have also identified several specialised books that can aid us in exploring Otto von Habsburg’s international activities and connections.
We intend to collaborate in the future on joint research projects and conferences.
