Meeting the new Austrian Ambassador

On 19 September, the Foundation received a visit from Astrid Harz, the new Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to Hungary, who will present her diplomatic credentials to the President of the Republic, Tamás Sulyok, on 24 September.

The Ambassador was introduced to the Otto von Habsburg Foundation’s professional relations with Austria, particularly the intensive partnership with the Austrian State Archives and its Director General, Helmut Wohnout.

In view of the vastly experienced Austrian diplomat’s previous services in several countries that were meaningful to our namesake, the documents and relevant book volumes held in our archives sparked the attention of the Ambassador. Bilateral relations between our countries and the expected results of the forthcoming parliamentary elections in Austria were also discussed. There is no doubt that the work of Otto von Habsburg as a European politician is of considerable interest in the Republic of Austria as well, and we look forward to cooperating with the Ambassador in the coming years.
