The legacy of the former historian, genealogist, heraldic, diplomat and knight of St John is preserved by the József Károlyi Foundation. In the last section of the conference, during a professional discussion on collection issues, the methods of processing the Vajay Archives and Library and the processing of the Habsburg family legacy in the Vienna State Archives were also discussed by András Oross, Delegate of the Hungarian National Archives to Vienna. The collection management experiences of other professional archives will help in the work of our foundation.
Two of our curators, György Károlyi and Ádám Lelbach, as well as Csaba Mohi, a former ambassador, also spoke at the conference, which was also attended by the daughter of Szabolcs Vajay. The series of praises and personal recollections evoking the person and oeuvre of Szabolcs Vajay was closed by a service in the chapel of Károlyi Castle.
