Conference to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Szabolcs Vajay

The program is the last section of a two-day conference organized jointly with the József Károlyi Foundation, Eötvös Loránd University and the University of Szeged.

Several of us at the Otto von Habsburg Foundation had close ties with Szabolcs Vajay, a historian who after 1944 lived in Argentina, France and for many years in Vevey, Switzerland, and who would have turned a 100 this year. The Vajay Archives and Library are preserved by the József Károlyi Foundation at the Károlyi Castle in Fehérvárcsurgó. The work of processing is similar to the activities of our Foundation, so we wish to commemorate Szabolcs Vajay’s serene personality and his work by discussing issues related to the preservation, processing and publicising of his legacy. We also wish to provide an outlook, placing our work in an international context.

The program is the last section of a two-day conference organized jointly with the József Károlyi Foundation, Eötvös Loránd University and the University of Szeged.
