Publication: Historical Experience and the Reunification of Europe

On 3 December 2019, the Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Otto von Habsburg Foundation organized a conference entitled “Historical Experience and the Reunification of Europe”. The written lectures are now published.

The event provided an excellent opportunity to compare the ideas of EU Member States and the countries of the Western Balkans on enlargement policy issues.

The studies are now published on the anniversary of the conference.

The authors of the volume take an attempt to review the complex system of relations between the EU and the Western Balkan states – which differs from country to country – , from a historical perspective.

Our aim with the publication is to advance the scientific debate on the future challenges of enlargement policy, thus contributing to the integration of the Western Balkans into the EU.

The publication can be viewed and downloaded below.
