Commemoration of Charles IV in Porto

On 6 December 2022, the Embassy of Hungary in Lisbon, in cooperation with the Portuguese Catholic University in Porto, organized a conference on the occasion of the centenary of the death of Blessed Charles IV, where the exhibition ‘Life and Memory’, compiled by the Otto von Habsburg Foundation, was presented.

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the death of the last Austrian Emperor and Hungarian King, Andreas Gottsmann, Director of the Austrian Historical Institute in Rome, and Gergely Fejérdy, Deputy Scientific Director at the Otto von Habsburg Foundation, answered questions from Leonidio Paulo Ferreira, a renowned Portuguese journalist.

Conference on the last monarch of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in Lisbon

The Embassy of Hungary in Lisbon, the Universidade Católica Portuguesa and the Austrian Embassy in Lisbon organised a conference in memory of Blessed Charles IV, who died in exile in Madeira on 1 April 1922. Gergely Fejérdy, Deputy Director of the Otto von Habsburg Foundation, also gave a lecture on the occasion of the centenary.
