The future of Europe – The legacy of Otto von Habsburg

The Otto von Habsburg Foundation, the Embassy of Hungary in Vienna and the Archabbey of Pannonhalma are organising a joint conference on 24 November at the Hungarian Embassy in Vienna.

The Otto von Habsburg Foundation, the Embassy of Hungary in Vienna and the Archabbey of Pannonhalma cordially invite you to their joint event entitled:

The future of Europe – The legacy of Otto von Habsburg

Date: 24 November 2022 (Thursday), 17.30
Venue: Embassy of Hungary in Vienna (Bankgasse 6, 1010 Vienna, Austria)

2022 is a historic year and an important milestone in the recent history of Europe. However, the current challenging and critical conditions are not unprecedented, which also provides an opportunity to draw inspiration from past experiences. Otto von Habsburg, born 110 years ago, lived through many periods of crisis during his long life, but his optimism, religiosity, political insight and ingenuity gave him strength again and again – even in the most difficult times. This prompted us to recall the intellectual legacy of Otto von Habsburg and to discuss the relevance of his vision of Europe today.

The event will feature an exhibition on the life of Otto von Habsburg, compiled by the Otto von Habsburg Foundation. The conference also offers an opportunity for a presentation by the Archabbey of Pannonhalma, where a memorial to Otto von Habsburg will soon be established.
