Archduke Karl von Habsburg, head of the House of Habsburg-Lorraine and Count Alexander von Pachta-Reyhofen, Chancellor of the Order of the Golden Fleece visited our Foundation on 23 November 2021.
Otto von Habsburg’s eldest son, the grandson of King Charles IV of Hungary had a discussion about the activities of the Foundation with Director Gergely Prőhle and Deputy Director Gergely Fejérdy and got acquainted with our work. Karl von Habsburg donated his father’s Europa Preis, which Otto von Habsburg received from the Alois Mock Foundation in 2009 for his dedicated efforts to unite our continent, to the Foundation.
“Serving the European integration” was the title of the round table discussion we organised at the Ludovika University of Public Service on 5 March.
In the summer of 2022, we published a research report based on a photograph of Count József Cziráky taken in 1957 and its adventurous journey. The account of the picture found in our collection at that time was further elaborated during our research this autumn so that not only the photo but the story of the Count’s neck ornament of the Order of the Golden Fleece can now be reconstructed in its entirety as well.
